Brenda Patterson West (1941 - 2007) raised Kai Patterson as a single parent mother, without child support from Kai's father, because he fled to Europe and initially denied Kai was his son.  Long before the discover of DNA and paternity test, Kai's mother had to endure the pressure and shame of her once loved companion denying the paternity of his child

Committed to ensure Kai would become successful, Brenda Patterson raised Kai Patterson as a single parent mother in Newark, New Jersey without receiving child support from Kai's father, long before the Child Support Recovery Act of 1992.

The Custodial Support Foundation was crated to honor Kai Patterson's mother, Brenda Patterson West to provide additional support for custodial and noncustodial parents with child support problem.
